Volume 11 Issue 7 - July 1996 THE SUPREME COURT IS NOT SUPREME! Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;" (Isaiah 10:1) Is the Supreme Court pushing America toward a civil war? This was the headline of a full -page article, submitted by Randall Terry that recently ran in the Washington Times in Washington DC. It was sent in response to the tragic Supreme Court decision that struck down the Amendment Two in Colorado, banning sodomites from having special rights based on sexual preferences. What is interesting about this question, is the fact that I had just shared with my wife, "It is decisions like these that historically catapulted nations into upheaval, spawned bloodshed in the streets, and became the seed bed for civil war." We must understand the significance of what the Supreme Court has just perpetrated upon America, both spiritually and judicially. It is obvious, spiritually, that six renegade judges on the Supreme Court have just spit in the face of a Holy God and have trampled under foot His Law, by rendering this ill-advised, wicked ruling. They seem to be hell-bent on plunging this nation into perdition, by continuing to frame mischief by a law, (Psalms 94:20), crafting moral wrongs into civil rights, and trying to make something straight when God has already eternally decreed it to be crooked. (Leviticus 18) Judicially, the more the Supreme Court makes arbitrary, autonomous decrees that establish law in our land, (something the Constitution forbids, for only Congress is ordained to make law) the more our form of government will change from a Representative Republic into an Oligarchy. (An Oligarchy is a form of governing in which a small elite group rules the masses.) Of course, this is absolutely contrary to the model of government our Founding Fathers died to secure for the United States of America. This is the point of contention that can possibly be the match that could light the fuse of civil unrest and explode into civil war. The bottom line is this, if America is plunged into another civil war, it will be for two crucial reasons. Again, the first one is spiritual, and this precedent can be found in our first civil war. God warned this nation for many years concerning the grievous sin of slavery. Unfortunately, our nation hardened its heart and closed its ears to the cries of Gods prophets and the cries of those who fell beneath the brutal whip of institutional bondage. As a result, the hammer of God finally fell and was made manifest in a full-scale civil war that cost the lives of 600,000 men. In Abraham Lincolns Second Inaugural Address, he plainly stated that the Civil War came because "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether." He believed the payment due of the blood drawn with the lash would be paid by another, drawn with the sword. In our first civil war the spiritual issue was slavery, but the legal issue was States rights versus Federal control. God used the legal issue to purge this nation of the abominable practice of slavery. Compare that with what we are facing today. How long has God warned this nation about the two sins of child-killing and homosexuality, the very sins that will damn any nation to hell? How long has the Church been silent, inactive and tolerant of what God deems intolerable? How long has our nation been openly reveling in its lust for blood and its unspeakable perversions? Will God use the legal issues of today to hammer this nation for our indolence, idolatry, and whoredoms once again? Is the pursuit of the Supreme Court to dismantle our representative authority and replace it with an oligarchy actually His chosen instrument to chastise this nation? Perhaps it will come in the same manner our first civil war took place, as an escalation of conflict over States rights vs. Federal control. Or quite possibly, Gods displeasure for our nation may manifest itself through the increasing hostility between the militia groups and the Federal government. The point is, we as Christians must recognize these are very real possibilities and we should pray, work, and intervene like never before. We must pray for repentance, revival, and reformation to sweep through the land before it is too late. We must work to reintroduce and restore the righteous rules of Heaven by which men are to govern themselves under God and towards one another. We must peaceably intervene in the affairs of this nation to give God a reason to avert this tragedy before it becomes inevitable. The following is the rest of the powerful article Brother Randall ran in the Washington Times. May the truth, strength, courage, and holy conviction of this piece burn in your hearts and produce in you a commitment to be a prophetic witness to our wayward nation. May you rise up in Jesus name to be an ambassador for the Kingdom of God, an agent of righteous change, in a land that desperately needs it. Consider these facts:
Slavery or liberty? The Supreme Court, in the name of "law", has rejected Gods Law and established lawlessness. The Supreme Court, in the name of "liberty", has forged the chains of slavery which bind America in a prison of Moral chaos, violence, and perversion. These wicked treacheries have been thrust upon us against the will of our elected representative legislators and in direct opposition to the will of the vast majority of Americans. The Court has usurped Divine authority, church authority, parental authority, community authority, and representative authority. They sit as gods among us. This, by definition, is tyranny. And tyranny cannot abide forever; whether it be the tyranny of the monarchy of King George III, or the tyranny of an oligarchy, such as the Supreme Court. We invite the thoughtful man or woman to reread the Declaration of Independence. Examine the enumerated tyrannies of King George III against the colonists and then consider the arrogant tyrannies of the Supreme Court against modern America. Which injustices are worse? Even as the colonists shrank from the thought of conflict with the Mother Country, God-fearing, liberty-loving Americans look with horror into the black abyss of conflict the Supreme Court may be dragging us. Yet, we have a grand, constitutional safeguard our political forefathers bequeathed to us for crises such as these: the congressional power of impeachment. Will Congress do its duty? The House and the Senate have the constitutional authority to forever stop this madness, by impeaching the six members of the Supreme Court who voted to legitimize this evil lifestyle. They are: Anthony M. Kennedy, David H. Souter, Stephen G. Breyer, John Paul Stevens, Sandra Day OConner, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. To members of Congress, we ask these questions:
Are you men or cowards? If you do that which is right,
Americans will love and respect you, and history will
honor you. If you do nothing, a further disgusted
cynicism will creep into the American public, and your
cowardly inaction may help inch us closer to that black
chasm into which no sane man desires to look, and few
dare to. If you choose the path of cowardice, the path of
inactivity, history will raise her head and mock you for
your impotence and folly. Future generations will hold
you up as miserable examples, tepid slaves who sold
themselves and their country- men into bondage for a bowl
of politically correct pottage. Are there God-fearing
lovers San Diego, Republican National Convention, August 9-16, 1996 "Dont just live and die, shake the nation!" Enclosed is a brochure announcing "Jesus is the Standard". Consider it an official invitation to come and be a standard- bearer for our great God and King, the Lord of Glory, the Lord Jesus Christ. Operation Rescue National is setting our face like a flint to participate in a rendezvous with destiny. We are going with the high praises of God on our lips, His truth beating in our breasts, and His Holy name high and lifted up so that all men might be drawn to Him. This is a Divine appointment for the very future of our nation. This is a powerful window of opportunity for the church in America to come to represent our Lord as the solution to what is ailing our land, as the eyes of the world focus on San Diego. Will you come to help deliver this message to the Republican National Convention, "Bill Clinton is not the problem, therefore Bob Dole is not the Solution, Jesus is the Standard" ? If you cant make it, please pray for me as I go to prepare the way of the Lord in that city. Pray for the church in San Diego, that they would receive me and the message we come to bear. Pray that they would hear the call, see the vision, and respond correctly to this window of opportunity. Pray that they dont miss this day of visitation to encourage the Republican Party not to betray the church, the pro-life community, the pre-born, and especially God Himself for a bowl of politically correct pottage. Hope to see you there in Jesus Name! Summer of Mercy Anniversary, July 19-21, 1996 "That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? Then ye shall answer them, that the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord;" (Joshua 4:6,7) Beginning on July 19th in Wichita, Kansas, we will be holding services to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the "Summer of Mercy" Operation Rescue event. It was this particular event that completely altered and forever changed the course set for our lives and ministry. In some ways it has become an Ebenezer stone of remembrance. It was there that God poured out His Spirit in a mighty way. We entered a three month revival, where God spoke, we heard, we heralded what God said, and He confirmed His word with awesome signs and wonders. It truly was an amazing time where the Word of God came alive, as thousands of Christians took to the streets for the Honor of God and to rescue those who were being led to the slaughter. We invite all those who were a part of this historic move of God and all those who wish you were, to come back, not only to remember what God did, but to also lift up the Standard once again.
