THE NEW AMERICAN CREED

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12)

The word creed comes from the Latin credo which translates, "I believe." A creed is any formula or confession of faith that members of a church espouse. Even if the church’s only creed boasts, "No creed, but Christ," that in and of itself still constitutes a creed. Every church denomination requires some statement of what they believe, some form of assent as a condition for membership. The creed can be Biblically based or it can be heretical in nature based upon the traditions of men. The purpose of the creed is to break down a belief system to its rawest form, in order to glean the primary principles, without which, the entire belief system would unravel into apostasy. In fact, historically the primary purpose for the church adopting creeds was to combat and protect the church from heresies and pagan philosophies that were corrupting the church and her mission.

The Apostles’ creed, though not written by the Apostles, but by the first century church leaders, was used to summarize Apostolic preaching and teaching. The early church believed that if these doctrines were not adhered to, one could not claim to be a Biblical Christian. To them it was a line, a boundary, and a much needed fence that preserved sound orthodoxy contained in the New Testament. To our early church fathers, an attack against the creeds of the church was ultimately an assault against the New Testament. Obviously that perspective does not even appear on the charts when it comes to the modern day church.

Most of us view the historical creeds of the church as antiquated, irrelevant documents that hold little or no value for the church today. But when one considers the missing fruit and lack of evidence regarding regeneration from persons who confess Christianity, perhaps we should reconsider our position. Perhaps its time to redefine what Christians should believe according to the Scriptures and Church history. Especially now, when our nation is compiling the coalition of gods in our ecumenical "prayer services" to assuage the horror that has befallen our nation. To refresh your memory concerning the creeds, I’ve chosen the Nicene Creed. The main purpose of the Nicene Creed was to highlight the divinity of Jesus Christ and to establish forever that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. To believe otherwise makes one’s religion, belief system, and creed part and parcel of the Anti-Christ system that is defying the revelation of the Triune God (1 John 4:1-3).

The Nicene Creed

"I believe in one God the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth, and of all things visible and invisible: and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from Heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried; and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into Heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead: whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spake by the prophets. And I believe in one Catholic and Apostolic Church; I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come."

Contained within this creed is not just a set of religious ideas or theological concepts, but a full panoramic view of God’s historical plan for man. It begins with creation, not evolution, by God the Father, Almighty. It requires man’s salvation only through Jesus Christ our Lord. Consequently, all other belief systems and religions are false and cannot save. It highlights the truth that Jesus Christ entered this world, lived a sinless life, died, and was resurrected from the dead in time and history. He is now at the right hand of God and sits as Lord and Judge over time and history. His Church is completely operative in history, a history that will culminate in the glorious return of our mighty champion, Jesus Christ, the Sovereign Lord in great power and glory. This will assuredly happen to the great rejoicing of believers and to the stark terror of those who refused to bow the knee and confess their allegiance to His Lordship. Ultimately, the Christian creeds are declarations of history, to what was, what is, and what most certainly will be, to the glory of the Triune God.

The Christian Creeds are not limited to an affirmation of certain ideas and concepts in the church, but is an essential affirmation of God’s history as He created it, redeems it, and governs it. It is foundational for a blessed social order. Our Founding Fathers understood this truth to the great blessing of America. We have denied this truth and abandoned our national creed to our own hurt.

It was G. K. Chesterton, a famous English writer and Christian thinker who remarked that America is the only nation founded upon a creed. All other nations were established based upon nationality, race, and ethnicity. This creed is presented in dramatic fashion in the Declaration of Independence. This treasured document acknowledges the Lord as Law-giver, Judge, Creator, and Protector of American rights. The creed goes on to explain that government is instituted to protect God-given rights. But if government ever becomes tyrannical and seeks to remove or destroy those rights, it is imperative that the people rise up to change the government until those rights are restored. The American creed has been the sure foundation for the American social order. It culminates with this famous utterance: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. As Americans, this is what we believed to the great blessing of our nation.

Tragically, just as the church thought it not valuable to honor nor remember her creeds, so America has also followed the same foolish course. We have exchanged our creed and as a result, we have exchanged gods in the process. We have exchanged the truth for the lie and our once national glory is descending into a nationalistic pride that refuses to blush as our sins tower above our heads.

Our new creed can be aptly summed up by Steve Turner who wrote this article called "Creed" in 1980. "We believe in MarxFreudandDarwin. We believe everything is OK, as long as you don’t hurt anyone, to the best definition of hurt, and to the best of your knowledge. We believe in sex before, during, and after marriage. We believe in the therapy of sin. We believe adultery is fun. We believe sodomy is OK. We believe that taboos are taboo. We believe that everything is getting better despite evidence to the contrary. The evidence must be investigated. You can prove anything with evidence. We believe there is something to horoscopes, ufo’s and bent spoons. Jesus was a good man just like Buddha, Mohammed and ourselves. He was a good moral teacher although we think his good morals were bad. We believe that all religions are basically the same, at least the one we read was. They all believe in love and goodness. They only differ on matters of creation, sin, heaven, hell, God, and salvation. We believe that after death comes The Nothing because when you ask the dead what happens they say nothing. If death is not the end, if the dead have lied, then it’s compulsory heaven for all excepting perhaps Hitler, Stalin, and Ghengis Khan. We believe in Masters and Johnsons. What’s selected is average. What’s average is normal. What’s normal is good. We believe in total disarmament. We believe there are direct links between warfare and bloodshed. Americans should beat their guns into tractors and the Russians would be sure to follow. We believe that man is essentially good. It’s only his behavior that let’s him down. This is the fault of society. Society is the fault of conditions. Conditions are the fault of society. We believe that each man must find the truth that is right for him. Reality will adopt accordingly. The universe will readjust. History will alter. We believe that there is no absolute truth excepting the truth that there is no absolute truth. We believe in the rejection of creeds and the flowering of individual thought."

Is there any hope that can be derived from a nation who has changed gods, creeds, and exchanged their glory for shame? Indeed there is. Since September 11th, 2001, America has been tripping over its collective tongue, trying desperately not to utter the word evil. For decades we have been taught through cultural Marxism that there is no right nor wrong, no good or evil, it is just what ever you subjectively think those concepts might mean to you. Thus our nation has become a god and law unto itself. Then the towers fell and with it, the ideology that has polluted our thinking. Humanism, secularism, egalitarianism, and all the other isms are collapsing as God is making it painfully clear that not all religions, creeds, and belief systems are the same nor lead to the same place. We cannot continue to live with the ridiculous conclusions of our pagan belief systems that deny the revelation of the Triune God of the Bible. The hard lesson of terrorism is, our nation cannot continue to thrive apart from God and His Holy Law. That is why OSA puts the old rugged cross before the flag. We must get the cross right, otherwise the flag fails. Amen!

"Let us look forward to the time when we can take the flag of our country and nail it below the cross, and there let it wave as it waved in olden times, and let us gather around it and inscribe for our motto: 'Liberty and Union, one and inseparable, now and forever,' and exclaim, 'Christ first, our country next!"

-Andrew Jackson, 1834, the seventh
President of the United States

Recently, the Emancipation Proclamation for the Pre-born Child was sent to you through our newsletter. Our heartfelt and sincere prayer is that God will use this historical document as a point of contact to lead the American Church in confession and to bring forth fruit meet for repentance. Especially as it relates to the American Holocaust and the sin of shedding innocent blood. Our website, along with OSA’s, and other Christian web sites are displaying the Proclamation. We are encouraging concerned citizens of America to download it, make copies, and gather as many signatures as possible. It is important however to include the Preamble and the Charge, along with the Proclamation. It is vital that people sign this document according to knowledge. This is not a petition drive!

Preamble to Emancipation Proclamation

Every once in a while, a significant document is introduced that has the potential to bring about a dramatic change in human affairs. We at Operation Rescue/Operation Save America consider the "Emancipation Proclamation" for the pre-born child to be such a document. We are presenting this opportunity for all whose hearts are moved by the plight of our pre-born neighbors to sign this historic document. Be well informed however that your signature carries with it a great weight of responsibility. This is not a petition drive!

By signing this document, you are declaring before Almighty God and to the world that you will no longer stand passively by while little children die. Your signature will be viewed as a step toward true repentance. Every one of us in America is either complicit or complacent in the act of child-killing. It takes a village to kill a child, and an entire nation to murder over 45 million. We are a part of the village, we are a part of the nation and, by signing this document, we are declaring that our days of apathy and indolence are over in Jesus’ Holy Name!

Your signature on this document will become a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Your physical presence at local abortion mills will allow your theology to become biography in the streets. Your financial support for those ministries standing in the gap on the streets for the pre-born children will move the gates of hell.

By God’s grace, each and every one of us who signs this Emancipation, will stand in Jesus’ Name, on behalf of our pre-born brothers and sisters until God answers the prayers and rewards the efforts of His people. We will stand until the pre-born child obtains the same unalienable rights and protections that are granted every American citizen under the Law of God and the Constitution of the United States of America!

The Charge

On January 1, 2003, thousands of gentle Christian warriors will gather at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC to pronounce the "Emancipation Proclamation" for the pre-born child. All the documentation will prayerfully be presented to President George W. Bush to sign. We will ask him to make a Presidential decree of this Proclamation on January 22nd, 2003, the 29th memorial of the infamous Roe vs. Wade Decision. It is about time!

One hundred an forty years prior to this date, on January 1, 1863, Abraham Lincoln pronounced the Emancipation Proclamation freeing our black brothers and sisters from the national sin of slavery. Thankfully, Lincoln left to us a record of what inspired him to sign the Emancipation Proclamation. He declared, "On many a defeated field there was a voice louder than the thundering of a cannon. It was the voice of God, crying, ‘Let My People Go!’ We were all very slow in realizing it was God’s voice, but after many humiliating defeats the nation came to believe it as a great and solemn command. Great multitudes begged and prayed that I might answer God’s voice by signing the Emancipation Proclamation, and I did it, believing we never should be successful in the great struggle unless the God of Battles has been on our side." Likewise, there is a voice and a solemn command resounding from Heaven once again. It is rising from the ashes of terrorist attacks and the rubble of New York City and Washington DC. It is the voice of the Lord demanding, "Let My Children Live!"

Following Abraham Lincoln’s understanding and example, we are calling all Christians in this nation to sign this document and inspire other to do the same. This is a call to stand and act principally upon God‘s word! Let us stand therefore with one heart and one mind on behalf of our defenseless brothers and sisters who are being slaughtered at abortion mills. It is upon our active repentance at abortion mills and at the gates of our cities that we will elicit the mighty hand of God to forgive our sin and heal our land. Abortion in America will come to an end when the Church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind that it will come to an end - not one second sooner!

Establishing Bloodguilt, January 20th, 2002

The following letter introduces to the Church of Jesus Christ in America OSA’s national campaign to reintroduce the doctrine of bloodguiltiness. Please pray for us as we go low to the ground to the gate of the Lord’s house (Jeremiah 7:1-11).

Dear Pastor,

Perhaps you are wondering why your church has been selected as a venue for a Gospel proclamation concerning the murder of unborn children in our city. The enclosed packet of information will be of immense value to you. The very future of our nation depends upon your response. The blood of over 45 million baby boys and girls is crying out from the ground to our God. This voice will not be silenced until we repent.

Blood is coursing down the corridors of our schools, workplaces, and streets. We are losing our children to abortion, drugs, gangs, suicide, and violence of unprecedented order. God is being violently and systematically removed from our national conscience and we are suffering the horrifying consequences of our arrogant error.

The Church of Jesus Christ is the only institution on earth ordained by God to turn America back to Himself. For this reason we must return to Him ourselves. His call is to us first - judgment begins in the house of God. As we humble ourselves, and pray, and turn from our wicked ways, God will hear, forgive, and bring healing to our land. Considering recent horrific events, we need Him desperately.

We at Operation Rescue/Operation Save America believe the biblical principles found in the Bible to be true. We know that you also agree. That is precisely why we are bringing this national campaign to the most evangelical, most pro-life churches in our city. Ours is to reintroduce you to the biblical doctrine of bloodguilt. Just who is responsible for the innocent blood being shed in our land? The answer may surprise you.

Our vision, our mission, is to challenge the Church of Jesus Christ to repent of her apathy and indolence, and defend the voiceless children in our own cities who cannot defend themselves. We are calling upon your Church to allow her wonderful theology to become biography in the streets of this city. Yes, we are calling you to bring the church of Jesus Christ to the very gates of hell! They cannot prevail!

This campaign will begin on Sunday, January 20th, 2002 in over 100 cities. We will be coming with very graphic signs and literature that reveal the horrible truth of a sin so heinous to God that, in Jeremiah 7:31, He says it never entered His mind that His people would do such a thing.

Pastor Great Heart, the sin of abortion will not end in this nation until the church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind that it will come to an end. You don’t have to wait for the President, The Supreme Court, or the Congress to do what is right. Just bring your church right on down to the gates of hell - our God is looking for an excuse to show up, and do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or imagine.

We would be honored to meet with you prior to our visit and answer any questions or pray with and for you. We certainly would appreciate your prayers for us.

IN KING JESUS’ SERVICE,

Rusty Lee Thomas
