THE BLOOD SPEAKS

"Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Where is Abel your brother?" He said, ‘I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?’ And He said, ‘What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.’" (Genesis 4:9,10)

It is clear from this passage that blood, when shed, does have a voice, the Bible says, "it cries out." Though those cries typically fall on deaf ears humanly speaking, it is still heard from on high. The question then becomes, what does the blood, especially the shedding of innocent blood, have to say? What is its message, what is the content of the cry, and are there any demands that the blood presents before a Holy God? Later, we will investigate the Scriptures to find the answers to these weighty questions, but for now, let us first look to the strength and veracity of our Christian faith, the shed blood of Christ.

As Christians, we should all be familiar with the revelation and the message that proceeds from the spilled blood of Christ. The Bible teaches in 1 Peter 1:18,19, "Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." It is this pure, undefiled blood that is not contaminated with human sin that gives us access to enter the Holiest, the very throne of God (Hebrews 10:19). It is this blood, and this blood alone that ratified the New Covenant, where God promised to write His Laws upon our hearts and inscribe them upon our minds (Jeremiah 31:31-34). It is this blood that washes away the filthy stain of sin and can, in some instances, even remove the devastating consequences associated with sin. The blood that fulfills the promise in Isaiah 1:18, "Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. It is the precious blood of God Himself that was shed on the cruel cross at Calvary that redeems us and its voice, its message, and its cry has one plea and one plea only, "MERCY!"

It was this blood of our Savior that was sprinkled upon the mercy seat of heaven that allows us as sinful creatures to stand before a Holy God who hates sin and not be consumed (Hebrews 9:11-28). In fact, it is this blood that not only allows God to tolerate us in that pitiful condition, but to actually desire, love, and accept us. Through the blood of Christ, God invites us to come boldly unto the Throne of Grace wherewith we can obtain help, mercy, and grace for every time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Praise His Holy Name for His unspeakable gift that is full of glory!

As stated prior in the article, we will now turn our attention to what the Bible teaches concerning the blood of the innocents and what that blood demands before a Holy God. It is this revelation that Christians seem to be woefully ignorant of or are living in a state of denial. In the book of Revelations, God removes the barriers that separates the earthly from the heavenly and allows us access to the conversation that proceeds from innocent victims to the God of all justice. To those who have ears to hear, hear what the blood of the martyrs have to say to the Lord God of Hosts, "When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, ‘How long, O Lord, holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" (Revelation 6:9,10)

Anyone with a lick of sense should be alarmed by the implications of this particular Scripture. Since the infamous Roe v. Wade Decision 28 years ago, our nation has brutally butchered upwards of forty million children made in the image of God with impunity. We have with hard hearts and seared consciences taken God’s precious gifts, unborn babies, and tossed them out with the evening trash. The blood of these children stain the ground of the "land of the free and the home of the brave." This grievous sin has reached the heavens and the cries of our nameless sons and daughters of America have ascended to the Lord of Sabaoth, the commander of the armies of heaven. It is a deafening cry that does not plea for mercy like the blood of Christ, but screams for vengeance to fall upon this cruel, wicked, and whorish nation.

Obviously, in light of these solid Biblical truths, each and everyone of us should take inventory and assess the ramifications concerning the message carried by the blood of the innocents. We need to first recognize that the blood of Christ still pleas for mercy, while the blood of our children demand justice. Whose voice will prevail? Whom will Heavenly Father hearken unto? I suspect that both will play a major role in God’s dealings with America. Regardless, we still need to be concerned about the legacy we will leave for our children and their posterity. Will it be a legacy that repents of its indolence, apathy, and indifference to the plight of those who are being dragged away to the slaughter? Will it be a heritage that finally rises up to end the American holocaust and gives God a reason to show mercy to us and our children? Or will we continue to turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to the "least of these" whose cry have reached the Righteous Judge of all the earth? Our children and our grandchildren deserve to have that question answered correctly, don’t you think?

"Every master of slaves is born a petty tyrant. They bring the judgment of heaven upon a country. As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be in this. By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence punishes national sins by national calamities."

-George Mason, a Christian Statesman, warns the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

When Paul confronted the Corinthian Church with its tolerance of sexual immorality within the body of believers, the Church finally responded with fruits meet for repentance. This shows us that if God is to have mercy upon our land and spare us the warning given by George Mason, (see above quote) Paul’s message must be taken to the American Church in our day, "Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter." (2 Corinthians 7:9-11)

From this passage of Scripture, we glean insight into the true nature of Biblical repentance. Along with confession, (saying the same thing God has to say on any given subject) true repentance includes diligence, clearing of ourselves in any given matter, indignation, fear, vehement desire, zeal, and vindication. According to Paul, true repentance that leads to salvation is a pursuit of sinful humanity to prove themselves cleared of all charges that their sins of omission and commission have brought against them. When faced with this definition of Biblical repentance, can the Church in America honestly say that we have repented of our complacency and complicity involved in the national sin of abortion? Have we truly cleared ourselves in this matter? Have our hands been cleansed of the innocent blood that has been shed under our watch in the Kingdom of God? If we are honest, I believe we would all have to answer in the negative. Proof that my assessment is true is verified by the fact that 28 years of slaughter has continued without let up by the silent consent of the Church and the blessing of the state.

In writing this article and making these theological observations, I’m not dictating to the reader what your response should be and what amendments to your life you should make. I would just plead with each individual to go before our gracious God and beseech Him to clear yourself of this national tragedy by bringing forth fruit meet for repentance. That is the sole purpose in writing this article. For I truly believe that if God would grant us true repentance in the Church of America, the days of child-killing will be indeed be numbered. May God hasten that glorious day in Jesus’ Holy Name!

THE CRIES CONTINUE

"So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen." (Mark 16:19,20)

In our last newsletter, Elijah Ministries presented the vision statement as well as the extraordinary testimony concerning Rachel’s Park Memorial. Many have rejoiced in the hearing of this godly vision and miraculous manifestation, while some have been a little more skeptical in their response. Though my intention in this article is not to justify what I and others heard to convince the skeptics, I did want to at least provide a theological basis in the previous article to affirm the truth that innocent blood does speak. Perhaps the time has come for God to allow those who have ears to hear, to hear what God has heard for the past 28 years since Roe v. Wade.

Since our last newsletter, the Lord has by other genuine signs and wonders affirmed His will in establishing Rachel’s Park Memorial. Case in point is, right after the three incidents of us hearing the baby cry at our Church property last summer, the recent vision for Rachel’s Park Memorial, and the subsequent hearing of the baby cry by another couple from our Church, the Lord reminded me of a play I wrote in 1992 called "Truth on Trial...A Cry for Justice." This play was used to prepare the way for Operation Rescue’s National Event in Houston at the National Republican Convention. When you read the portion of text that I’m submitting to you as more evidence of God’s Providence in this monumental Christian/Pro-life endeavor, you must keep in mind this was written several years ago. I had no earthly idea at that time that there would be a connection between this drama written 9 years prior and the miraculous events surrounding Rachel’s Park Memorial that would be unfolding right before our very eyes. We stand amazed at God’s dealings in our lives. What one would perhaps see as solitary incidents that are disassociated from one another, suddenly under God’s overruling power, they mesh and become one continuum of God’s destiny for one’s life. All praise be to our Rock and to our King!!!

TRUTH ON TRIAL ... A CRY FOR JUSTICE, PAGES 42-44

LARRY: The defense calls Ronnie Thomas to the stand.

JUDGE: Mr. Thomas, remember the oath.

RONNIE: So help me, God.

LARRY: Please state your full name for the record.

RONNIE: Ronnie Edward Thomas.

LARRY: Ronnie, would you please testify before this court your state of mind as you went onto the property that day and sat at the doors.

RONNIE: Yes sir. Being a veteran of a war, I consider myself a man with both feet firmly planted on the ground. I’ve seen the stark realities of life and have tried to maintain a level head in the midst of it. I don’t consider myself super-spiritual, although I have a deep abiding faith in God. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m not spooky spiritual. I’m not prone to dreams or visions, I don’t hear voices. I’m just a construction worker who one day did hear a voice. Let me somehow explain.

There’s a park (Rachel’s Park Memorial) that I walk to, and near the park is a cemetery (A Cemetery of the Innocents and a Memorial for the Unborn). Anyway, one day as I was leaving the park, I felt compelled to walk around this cemetery . All the while I had this strange sensation that I was being led to something. All of a sudden, I tripped over something. As I parted the grass to see what I tripped over, I came face to face with a grave marker that simply read "Baby." That’s all that was inscribed on the grave, no name, no dates, no epitaph, just "Baby." As I began to ponder all this, all of a sudden I heard a baby cry. It was so real to me that I turned to see if someone was there. Nothing. I was all alone with this grave marker. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. What started out to be one baby crying, increased to 5, to 10, then 100’s, possibly 1000’s, even millions....all crying and I could hear them. I thought I was going crazy. Why God? What are you doing this to me? I don’t want to hear it! I’ll do anything, but please baby, stop crying!

Your honor, ever since I’ve heard those cries, I knew God had called me to be a missionary to the unborn. I sold my construction business and have given my life and money to make sure that their cries are not done in vain. What I have done, I will continue to do, until the butchery that has caused these cries is driven back to hell from whence it came. Thank you, your honor.

A couple of Sundays ago, I preached the contents of both articles at Church of the Open Door, right here in Waco, TX. Pastor Ronnie Holmes is a tremendous brother and good friend to Elijah Ministries locally. As I was sharing on the extraordinary testimony concerning the cries of the baby being heard by different folks at different times, I noticed Pastor Ronnie’s wife, Kim began to cry. I just thought she was being moved by the message until we talked after the meeting. She explained to me that two nights prior to my coming to their Church to preach, she and her daughters were sitting on their porch late at night and guess what she heard? You got it, the voice of a crying baby. She told me that she knows her neighborhood out in that part of the country and no one has an infant close by. Needless to say, any doubts we’ve had on whether or not to proceed with the vision of Rachel’s Park Memorial has been erased. Enclosed is the brochure we handed out at the Dedication Service on Sunday, January 21st, 2001. Feel free to seek the Lord on being a part of this glorious Christian/Pro-life project.
