Volume 18 Issue 2 - February 2003 ROE VS. WADE MEMORIAL SERVICE "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report." This Message was preached at the Roe vs. Wade Memorial Service on January 22nd, 2003 in Waco, TX by Yours Truly.
PRESS RELEASE, ATTENTION: Just imagine a death toll the same as that of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, every day and twice on Sunday, all year long for 30 years. Now you have a grasp of the death toll of little American citizens since the legalization of abortion on Jan. 22, 1973. On Wednesday, January 22nd, 2003, the Church of Jesus Christ in Central Texas is planning a number of events to repent of the infamous U.S. Supreme Court decision that Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas describes as a national "covenant with death." "For 30 years, millions of innocent children made in the image of God have been reduced to a piece of trash to be thrown away by our society. This does not bode well for the current state or the future of our nation. Our collective soul, obviously, has become sick. Our hearts have become hardened against the plight of our own children. Thanks to the Roe vs. Wade decision and the culture of death it has spawned," Rev. Thomas said. The events will begin at 9 a.m. at the Waco City Hall, where Christians will be called on to renew their commitment to God and to repent of their passive acquiescence to abortion. "We have to understand that we who name the Name of Christ have failed. We have failed to love our neighbor as ourselves. We have failed to be our brothers keeper. We have failed to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and we have failed to rescue those unjustly sentenced to death. Quite honestly, we have been passive, at a time that demands brokenness, tears, and even outrage when it comes to the slaughter of the innocent. "Abortion is a battle between two worldviews. Christians believe human life is sacred, it is a gift of God, and therefore needs to be protected by law and welcomed into life," he said. "The other side believes in a philosophy called the quality of life. This occurs when autonomous men and women who are older and stronger arbitrarily decide whether the weaker and younger can live based simply upon whether they want them or not. This philosophy should never have been codified into law." At 10 a.m. there will be a funeral procession from City Hall to Rachel's Park Memorial, 4720 N. 19th St., which features a Tomb of the Unknown Baby. There, an aborted child will be memorialized, and interred as a representative of the millions of lives lost since 1973. "The child that is going to be buried there is going to represent all the children that we know were once conceived, were safe in their mothers' womb, and through this holocaust of abortion their life and all its promise was cruelly taken from them," he said. Afterwards the service will continue at the sanctuary of Church on the Rock, where American Family Association, President Tim Wildmon, will be the keynote speaker for a national broadcast. Thus giving the Waco locality a national platform this year. LEADERSHIP MEETING, CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA I just returned from North Carolina. Operation Rescue leaders from around the nation came together to seek the Lord for a glorious weekend. Testimonies abounded to inspire, encourage, and exhort one another to stay close to Jesus, purify our hearts, and remain faithful in the battle. Many topics were covered, such as, Judgment Begins in the House of God, A Case Study of the American Church, The NOW vs. Scheidler/Operation Rescue case, and The Battle Rages-Homosexuality, Islam, and Abortion. (They are the three different colored gloves of the same demonic fist that is striking America). On Saturday, February 1st, all the Rescue leaders went to the local abortion mill in Charlotte. It was the firstfruits that prayerfully will prepare the way of the Lord for our national event there in July. Judging by the police presence, which was quite large, one would have thought some very dangerous individuals were in town. While there, different men of God preached and warned our nation that the sin of shedding innocent blood demands an accounting. God will not be mocked. What this nation has sowed, we shall surely reap. As soon as the messages ended, we received word that the Columbia Space Shuttle disintegrated over Texas. A friend of mine in Dallas, by the name of Rodger Goodwin, who personally witnessed this tragedy gave this illuminating commentary that ties directly to what we experienced in North Carolina. "That's when the irony really set in. The place we witnessed this tragedy in the sky was in front of the oldest abortion mill in Texas where thousands of innocent people have literally been ripped apart, much like the seven astronauts were. The biggest difference was that these are killed every day, by choice, not by accident. I knew that there would be local, national and global media attention due to this horrific event and the precious loss of life that occurred in the skies above North and East Texas, and rightfully so. A life being lost is a terrible thing. The irony is that I also knew that there would be absolutely no media attention and hardly a thought from the public, about the 23 lives scheduled to be torn apart at 2921 Fairmount, Dallas, TX, on a beautiful Saturday morning. As I watched the news coverage and saw the disintegration of the shuttle scattered across hundreds of miles I was dumbstruck. Then, the media showed us the morbid picture of one of the astronaut's helmets with the face shield blown out. And finally, the details of the body parts that had been located...a torso, a leg, etc. Right in front of me, in this "clinic" the exact same thing was taking place. Body parts were being hewn into a container after being torn apart by a strong (wind) vacuum. There is no mourning for these. There is no public outrage or dismay. There is no lowering the flag. There is no grieving by family members. There is no reading of Isaiah by the President. There is no talk at work, church or Sunday School. There are no memorial services scheduled to give the dead a proper burial. These lives are not considered valuable to us. These Image Bearers are not worthy of our attention." This is now the second time that America has experienced strange weather as body parts are falling from the skies upon our heads. How long will we remain in willful ignorance? How long will the Church refuse to connect the dots? How much of a bigger hammer is the Lord going to send against us, if we continue to live in a state of denial? Brothers and Sisters, the Church must move from just providing mourning ministries that console the bereaved to become prophetic ministries that warn the wicked and intervene to give God a reason to show mercy in the midst of His judgment. Always remember this truth, God has more disaster than the American Federal Government has relief. IN KING JESUS' SERVICE, Rusty, Liz, and the Thomas Nation P.O.
