Volume 21 Issue 3 -  March  2006

THE TEN WORDS

"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith." (Galatians 3:24)

My tenth child is named Torah Grace Thomas. The Galatians verse is her life verse. She was named after this biblical revelation. God sent His law to stop our mouths and make us guilty, in order to drive us to the mercy seat of God to find His redemption (Romans 3:19). In light of this truth, Elijah Ministries is about to unleash another city-wide mailer.

Previously we sent out 50,000 tracts that exposed the hidden works of darkness associated with Planned Parenthood. This time, we intend to send out 61,000 tracts that exposes the hidden works of darkness that lurks within men's hearts. God willing, every home in Waco will receive a Gospel of the Kingdom message based upon the Law of God. We will pray God's Law brings the needed conviction that will grant men the gift of repentance, the gift of faith, and the gift of eternal life.

This project is expensive, but well worth the investment. In talking with a source in the know with Planned Parenthood, their numbers of abortions are dwindling. In the last year, the best estimates indicate that Planned Parenthood used to kill about 30-35 babies a week before the mailer and they are now currently performing about 15-18 a week. I asked my source if they thought the Planned Parenthood mailer had an impact upon these numbers plummeting. The source told me they received several phone calls asking them difficult questions. Obviously, there are other factors and other ministries that have helped lower the numbers, but it was just good to know that the mailer helped to save lives.

Based upon the knowledge that God used our previous mailer, we will now moved forward with our next one to further impact the city of Waco. For those who are moved by God's Spirit to invest in this Kingdom project, feel free to use the return envelope with your offering. Mark your memo Evangelistic Mailer or the Ten Word’s Project. Thank you in advance for helping us reach our city and nation with the Gospel of the Kingdom.

THE TEN WORDS

Heaven's Test

Are You good enough to go to Heaven?

There are basic questions that mankind has asked since time memorial. Such as, where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going? Maybe there was a time in your life when you contemplated these same philosophical questions?

Perhaps, there was a time, when you were lying all alone with your thoughts on your bed late at night when all of a sudden these haunting questions invaded your mind? If you're like most, your mind began a frantic search that would relieve this gnawing quest for a legitimate solution to these perplexing questions. But alas, like most, your finite brain simply couldn't handle the strain, so it short-circuited and left you in a state of fear. In particular, the fear of death.

The Bible, God’s word, teaches that there really is an eternal paradise called Heaven and a real place of eternal damnation called Hell. Obviously, the critical question that arises must be, "Am I good enough to go to Heaven and escape the torments of Hell?"

One of the surest ways to find out is to take a simple test based on the Ten Commandments. This test is the most important test you will face in this life. It will determine your quality of life in this world (your destiny) and the outcome of your eternity in the age to come. Are you ready? Let's go through them to determine if your fit for Heaven.

You shall have no other gods before Me. Be honest, does the true and living God, the Creator of heaven and earth, the righteous Judge of the world, and the Ruler of the universe have first place in your life? Do you love God above all else? Is He alone the object of your faith and worship?

The bottom line is, in this world you are going to worship and serve someone or something. I guarantee you will look to something or someone to satisfy your needs, be a source of identity, and to give you some meaning in this vain, fleeting life. The only question that remains is who or what is it? Who or what is the object of your faith? Whom do you submit your allegiance to? Where do you set your affections? Whom do you seek, adore, and worship?

In Psalm 115:4-8, the Bible describes the idols that compete for the souls of men and the obedience that belongs to God alone, "Their idols are silver and gold, the works of men's hands ... They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusts in them." The truth is, you will become like the god you worship and you will serve the kingdom you see.

So, you be the judge. Will you be innocent or guilty on Judgment Day for breaking this first Commandment? Remember, that God is a Jealous God and He will not hold you guiltless if you violate His commandments! (Exodus 20:5)

You shall not make for yourself any graven image. Have you conjured up in your mind a god to suit yourself? Do you bow your knee and heart to the God of the Holy Bible or is your god an American designer god to suit your pleasure? If so, you have committed the oldest sin in the Book. The sin of idolatry. By the way, those who commit this sin will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

This commandment teaches that God is very particular on how we approach Him. It speaks of the role of mediation. There is only one mediator that God accepts between sinful man and His holiness and that is Jesus Christ. No man, priest, church, religion, saint, or icon can mediate God’s salvation on your behalf. Jesus Christ is the only way (1 Timothy 2:5). So, how are you doing thus far?

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Have you ever used God's name as a curse word? The Bible calls that blasphemy. Blasphemers will not be going to Heaven. Do you call yourself a Christian and yet live according to this world? Do you go to church on Sunday and yet revel in sin the rest of the week? If so, you have taken the name of the Lord in vain.

Jesus said, "Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say (Luke 6:46)?" With their mouths many confess they know God and call themselves Christians, but their thinking and lifestyles betray Him and their works prove they don't know Him (Titus 1:16). The Bible calls this hypocrisy and Jesus reserved His most biting criticism and unleashed His hottest anger against it.

Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy. Do you labor faithfully for six days and on the seventh day rest? Do you honor the Lord's day by attending a Bible-believing, God-honoring Church or are you like most who forsake the assembling of themselves together (Hebrews 10:25)? Do you meet this requirement or are you guilty of breaking this Commandment also?

Honor your Father and Mother. How do you treat your parents? Do you honor them in a way that is pleasing to God? Do you value them as God commands? Do you talk back and disobey them? If you have, then you have broken this commandment.

You shall not murder. By now, you maybe wiping your forehead, thanking God that you have at least kept one Commandment. Before you let yourself off the hook though, have you been involved with the sin and crime of abortion?

You also need to consider this profound truth. In the Old Testament you were guilty of committing the physical act. In the New Testament, however, you are guilty for thinking about it. That’s right! Jesus warned in Matthew 5:22, "But l say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment..." The Bible further declares, "Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (1 John 3:15)." According to the Bible, if you have hate in your heart against someone, you are a murderer and will be banned from Heaven.

You shall not commit adultery. What is true about murder, also holds true for adultery. Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said to those of old, you shall not commit adultery. But I say to you that whosoever looks at a women to lust after her (pornography) has committed adultery already with her in his heart (Matthew 5:27,28)." Remember, that God has seen every thought you have had and every sin you have ever committed. The day will come when you will have to give an account. The Bible also warns that all fornicators, (those who have sex before or outside of marriage) adulterers, and homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).

You shall not steal. Have you ever taken something that belonged to another irrespective of its value? Then you are a thief and no robber will be found in Heaven.

You shall not bear false witness. Have you ever told a lie? Then you are a liar. How many lies does it take to be a liar? Just one. The Bible warns that all liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8). You may not think deceitfulness is a serious sin, but God does.

You shall not covet. Are you jealous of other people’s property? Are you envious of their possessions? Do you desire what does not belong to you? Then you are a covetous person and of course, there will not be one trace of a covetous person found in Heaven.

Well, did you pass Heaven's test? No one ever has, except one, and His name is Jesus. The truth is, there is none of us that is not guilty of breaking God's Laws. The Bible declares, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)." Perhaps this is first time you recognize that you are indeed in bondage to sin, walking in darkness, and that your soul is in danger of eternal damnation. Are you now going to try to keep the Ten Commandments and think only pure thoughts to make things right with God? I'm sorry a good judge doesn't let a criminal off the hook simply because he promises to do better. No, justice must be served.

You see, the Law of God is simply a mirror that shows us our dirt. The only problem is the mirror can't wash us clean from the filthiness of breaking God's Law. This is why we must confess that we are unclean and need to be washed. If we don’t, then all that dirt will be presented against us on Judgment Day and we will perish eternally in our sin. Is that how you want to end up? I pray not!

The good news is the Lord Jesus Christ who kept the Law perfectly died in our place. He became our substitute. The punishment we deserve fell upon Him. It is His precious blood shed on the cross that washes away all our sin, guilt, and shame, if we would but humble ourselves and put our faith and trust in Him. He paid our debt that He didn't owe and out of His awesome love for you and me, He satisfied God's demand for justice for breaking His Laws. Isaiah 53:5 states this soul-liberating truth, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities."

My friend, someone is going to have to pay for breaking God's Law. Will it be you or Jesus? To receive a free Bible, prayer, or more information on God’s great salvation please contact us at (254) 741-5904.

RPM’S FIRST MEMORIAL SERVICE

Since our Roe vs. Wade Memorial Service at Rachel's Park Memorial, wondrous fruit continues to be produced. Women are finding hope in the midst of despair, freedom where there once was chains of depression, and purpose as God intervenes and takes what the Enemy meant for harm and turns it to the good. Women are finding that there children would not have died in vain if they would humbly submit to the discipline of the Lord, confess their sin, and then use their testimony to save the lives of others. Yes, God can take the a tragic death due to the sin of man and redeem it by his precious blood to bring life to others. This is what the Lord did for us and His works march on today. May it continue as we look to God to bring healing to the deadly wound of abortion. The following is the testimony of the first woman that desires the Memorial Service at Rachel’s Park Memorial.

Dear Rusty:

Thank you for being so nice. This is harder than I thought it would be. A memorial service would be great. Here is the information for the plaque. Do you need a last name? Because if you do, you can use my maiden name, Pettid. Hopefully, it will all fit on one.

Thanks again,

Carole

This is the third plaque that will be placed upon the Wall of Remembrance at the Memorial Service.

THE THIRD PLAQUE

Joy Pettid, January 1973 - May 1973                                                 Anna Pettid, November 1973 - January 1974                                                        Jacob Pettid, April 1976-July 1976

I am so sorry.  Each of you were a precious gift from the Lord, and I was too blind to see that.  Please forgive me.

Love Mom

"When my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will take me up." (Psalm 27:10)

Prayerfully, the Memorial Service will take place on Friday, March 3rd, 2006 at 2 PM. We are inviting the community and media to observe this solemn and yet rejoicing occasion. Hopefully, may more women will find their way to Rachel’s Park Memorial and find the help they need like Carole explains in this follow up message.

Dear Rusty:

I would like to do this as soon as possible (Memorial Service). Let me know what dates and times are open or when works best for you. I can change my schedule easier than you can.

As for private or public, I am going to leave that decision to you. I will do whatever you think is best.

Once again, I can't begin to thank you enough for being so obedient and carrying through with the vision the Lord gave you regarding this park. Ever since that Saturday at the park my life has changed. At work I was told that I look radiant and happier than they ever have seen me. Even my dreams are happy now. My marriage is better because I am not dragging around all this resentment and anger and despair. It just poisoned everything in my life, including my relationship with God. But now the fellowship is sweet, prayer is not a chore and Sunday is date day with the One I love most of all!

I don't know how to thank you! Let me know what dates work for you.

JACKSON LOGO

"He is not a tame Lion, but he is a good One."- C.S. Lewis

While I was in Scotland visiting the William Wallace Monument, there was one picture that stood out to me above the rest. It was a lion pouncing upon a man with two snakes. The man, I believe represented England, the lion was Scotland, and the two snakes represented the biblical imagery pronounced in the battle between two seeds found in Genesis 3:15. When I called Flip about the possibility of using this picture in our Jackson campaign, he loved the concept, but was puzzled by the presence of two snakes, instead of just one. As we pursued this, we finally figured out that in order to demonstrate the Scripture in Genesis 3:15 which states, "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel," the artist had chosen to show two snakes. One biting the heel of the lion and one being stomped upon by the same lion.

After some discussion we decided to grant my son Micah, who is ten years old, his first artistic commission. His assignment is to take this concept and reduce the drawing to one lion, the broken chain, a cross, and a snake. There is so much truth conveyed in this picture that we will expound upon later, but please pray for him and this project. If done right, it will capture the battle that has raged throughout the pages of Scripture right up to today's manifestation. The following is the rough draft that Micah has drawn. We have some more adjustments to make to enhance it, but it is pretty good for a ten year old. Prayerfully it will help inspire the Church to join the battle in Jackson.
