THE BLESSED REBUKE
“He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him: But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them (Proverbs 24:24,25).”
For most of America’s history, we were the envy of the world. Our Republic shined as a diamond in the rough. We were the city set on the hill, a light to the nations of the earth. To the poor, oppressed, and downtrodden, we provided hope and deliverance. To the dictators and oppressors of the world, we provided with our blood, treasure, and national determination, freedom from their tyrannies. If America was hated in times past, for the most part, the source was jealousy. The nations simply hated the fact that America has been the freest and most prosperous nation in mankind’s bloody history.
These same nations, for years, wondered about America’s experiment with liberty. What accounted for our apparent success? Was it our political system, our military might, our great wealth, or American ingenuity? Surely these played a role, but they are merely the fruit, not the root of our achievements. At our foundation, it was our faith in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the Triune God of the Holy Bible that established, sustained, and prospered our nation through our pangs and growth to a world power.
The principle, Biblically and historically, is based upon this premise found in Deuteronomy 28:1,2. God’s word states, “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”
The first presupposition that all nations must wrestle with is physical poverty is based upon idolatry. Where there is spiritual darkness there is mental ignorance that leads to abject poverty. This is true, even amongst the nations that are teeming with natural resources. The average citizen suffers as the elite few hordes the wealth for their own political power and economic gain. All pagan, tyrannical governments that seek to usurp the place and position of Almighty God reduce their nations to this deplorable status. One just has to take a cursory view of North Korea, Communist nations, and Islamic regimes to verify this reality.
America once understood this premise, but years of neglect, disobedience, rebellion, and idolatry have removed its significance from our national landscape. Thus we find ourselves in a serious predicament formerly faced by Old Testament Israel. God warned, “And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage (Deuteronomy 6:10-12).”
In another warning, God cautioned, “Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end; And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day (Deuteronomy 8:11-18).”
Israel did not take heed to God’s word and suffered the terrible consequences of her betrayal against the very Lord who set her on high above all the other nations of the earth. As a result, the pagan nations that envied her status were unleashed to plunder the apple of God’s eye. In a similar way, America it seems has fallen into this same deplorable state. We were once hated because God, our Great Benefactor, poured His abundant bountifulness upon the land of the free and the home of the brave. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case.
As it stand, the source of the hatred towards us has dramatically shifted. It is not based upon previous jealousies, but as our opening Scripture in Proverbs warn “He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him.” How long has America pardoned the wicked and punished the righteous? How long have we called evil, good and good, evil? How long have we codified evil into law? How long have we boasted in that which should make us ashamed and yet we refuse to blush? God’s word declares if we ever fall into this wicked state other nations will curse and abhor us. Have we not seen the dances in the streets of other nations as we face calamity after calamity in our beleaguered nation? Have we not heard the nations band together and condemn us with chants that scream for our destruction?
Some may say this is the result of our failed foreign policy and using our power to influence the rise and fall of nations and different regimes. I’m not completely naïve in this perspective, but just as in the case of idolatry being the root of nations being reduced to a third world status, so it is with the nations incensed against America. They smell the rotting corpse of our immorality, homosexual perversions, and the shedding of innocent blood by abortion, coupled with our refusal to end these abominations. This betrayal against our Lord inspires the nations to condemn us and ultimately seek our destruction.
If these things be so, what can American citizens do, especially those who name the name of Christ? I would highly recommend the latter part of our opening verse. Proverbs 24:25 states, “But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.” Just like most American Christians run from the blessing of having children, we also refuse the blessing of rebuking the wicked. For a people that confuse the American dream with the blessing of God, how come we seek not this blessing, along with health, wealth, and prosperity? Could it be that once again the blame for our nation’s demise falls squarely at the foot of God’s church? Are we complicit or complacent in extending grace and mercy to those who hate the Lord and seek His removal from our nation? Are we inadvertently through our silence and inaction strengthening the hands of the wicked? Have we turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the sins that have reached heaven and stand as indictments against America? Have we been more concerned about nickels and noses in our Church buildings than the spiritual and moral condition of our perverted, blood-stained country?
We must remember the admonishment from the Psalmist, which states, “Ye that love the Lord, hate evil (Psalms 97:10a).” Clearly, one of the fruits that affirm our love for God is an honest hatred against evil in all its forms. Why is this so important? Simply, evil destroys the mankind that Christ died to redeem. Further, God’s word admonishes us to overcome evil by doing good (Romans 12:21). If these are our marching orders, how well is the American Church faring in this righteous pursuit?
It is recorded of our Lord Jesus that the source of His blessed anointing was rooted in the truth that He “loved righteousness and hated iniquity (Hebrews 1:9).” The Church has forgotten this blessed fount that produces God’s approval, endorsement, and power to further His Kingdom in the earth. Our ignorance or willful ignorance concerning this root to our effectiveness has produced Ichabod, which means, God’s glory has departed. Sadly, entire denominations are staggering under this reality today. Their candle sticks are being removed and yet much of the Church in America continues in its futile religious exercises.
Preachers are begging God for His presence to return to His people. They desire to have more of God’s anointing to be effectual in God’s service and yet reduce God’s word to a Gospel of self-improvement. The results are appalling. We have become clouds that promise rain, but the drought upon us continues to scorch our nation. Perhaps, we should follow the Master’s example and seek the source of His anointing, which as way of reminder is to “love righteousness and hate iniquity.” The years of tickling ears with promises of God’s blessing without repentance and obedience to His word should cease at once. Let us instead, seek the blessed rebuke, first to ourselves and then to our nation that is speeding towards perdition.
Lastly, we must also recognize that our might as a nation can never be centered in our might. If we think we can withstand the betrayal from within by the foes of our own American household and the threats of terror from without, apart from the Church rebuking and correcting ourselves first and then our wicked nation, we have another thing coming. No, if this nation seeks to be blessed once again, we must start with Acts 3:26, which states, “Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
If we return to God and make things right, we will have returned to the source of our might and blessing as a nation. It is in this blessed state that we can secure our future in a very dangerous world. It wouldn’t matter if the entire Communistic and Islamic nations combined to seek our destruction, they would not prevail. God’s word declares, “If God be for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31).”
How I pray that we all receive the blessed rebuke and pronounce it when our nation desperately needs it. God promises a good blessing upon all those who do. And perhaps part of that blessing is God would make even our enemies to be at peace with us once again, instead of seeking our demise.
MEXIA MAILER
Recently, we sent out the following cover letter and tract to over 4,800 homes in Mexia, TX to expose the hidden works of darkness perpetrated by Planned Parenthood. The entire mailer to Mexia cost $842.00. If any of you care to help underwrite some of the expense it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
This mailer is sent as a community alert. Central Texas Planned Parenthood’s has expanded its "services" to your community. Their extension into your city represents at its core a battle between two worldviews and the subsequent fruit these worldviews produce.
One worldview holds that human life is sacred. Man is made in the image of God and therefore has inherent worth and dignity. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, died and rose again from the dead for lost humanity. Human beings, therefore, have tremendous inherent value as a creature in the mind and plan of Almighty God. Jesus stated, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul (Matthew 16:26)? According to Jesus, all the accumulative wealth in the entire world pales in comparison to just one human soul.
Planned Parenthood has cheapened this godly value to the point of reducing babies in the womb to rubbish that can be “legally” discarded with the evening trash. Their pagan philosophy is known as "quality of life." According to this view, human life is based upon its utilitarian considerations. Man only has value if wanted, productive, does not add pain or require sacrifice from the rest of mankind to support their lives. Their usefulness is the key to their existence. (Remember the slogan in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany, "Work makes you free")? Thus if babies are inconvenient to their parents and society, under Planned Parenthood’s management, they are to be considered an expendable commodity and eliminated. As you study Margaret Sanger's life, the infamous founder of Planned Parenthood, you will see this deadly, selfish, greedy, and lustful view proudly presented by this queen of death.
My friends, ideas have consequences and belief systems lead mankind somewhere. One view leads to love as defined by Jesus Christ, which is, laying our lives down to help, serve, and save others. It is a true love that gives at the expense of self. It is a love that inspires the strong to help the weak. The other view is rooted in lust, which takes at the expense of others to satisfy self. It inspires the strong to victimize the weak and destroy them if they get in the way of our selfish, lustful pursuits.
Planned Parenthood promotes a fantasy world that promises the wages of sin is not death. You can fornicate, commit adultery, engage in homosexual lust, and be promiscuous to your heart's content. If along the way, however, you experience an undesirable consequence, such as, an unwanted pregnancy, STDs, or evidence of child molestation, Planned Parenthood will be there to remove the consequences. They accomplish these purposes through their “services” of peddling birth control, condoms, abortion, sterilization, and by covering up the evidence of child molesters that abuse underage girls. Planned Parenthood "frees" man to continue in their sexually immoral and criminal behavior. No wonder the sexually promiscuous and criminals love and defend Planned Parenthood. They are enablers that bring out the worst in our fallen nature under the facade of "healthcare."
Margaret Sanger stated, "[Our objective is] unlimited sexual gratification without the burden of unwanted children..." (Margaret Sanger (editor). The Woman Rebel, Volume I, Number 1. Reprinted in Woman and the New Race. New York: Brentanos Publishers, 1922.)
She desired a world where mankind could experience all the pleasures of sex with no responsibility. This is the utopian dream that has plunged America into a hellish nightmare. Planned Parenthood continues to practice this dark philosophy today behind the facade of a being a benevolent organization concerned about helping poor women. Behind their veneer of respectability, however, lurks a monster that devours. I adjure you by the mercies of God to protect your children from this wolf in sheep’s clothing. Rise up as a community and drive out Planned Parenthood from your midst.
