2009 PROPHETIC PRAYER PROCLAMATION

Whereas: The providential history of mankind is covenantal in nature, comprised of Divine blessings for obedience to the Law-Word of God, and negative sanctions for transgression of the same, and under consideration of the historic precedent of public covenantal proclamations regarding the unlawful actions of civil magistrates established by John Knox in 16th century Scotland, the combined members and associates of SGI have during the month of January 2009, conducted concerted and public prayer for the President of the United States, Barack Obama, along covenantal lines, having the Davidic imprecatory Psalms as our form and pattern. This proclamation serves as a synopsis of our activity.

Resolved: To the end that the President of the United States, Barack Obama, fulfills his duties as the covenantal head of this nation along Biblical lines; we as Christ's ambassadors pray and proclaim blessing. That is, if the President executes his duties in a fashion that would not be tyranny to good works and would uphold the abiding validity of God's moral law as delineated in the Ten Commandments along with the justice-mercy ethic derived from the New Testament, we do declare that blessing, honor, and good success would be upon him, his associates and policies.

Resolved: In that the President of the United States Barack Obama has thus far sought the codification of behavior condemned in the infallible Law-Word of God, specifically homosexual "marriage" and tax-funded state-sanctioned murder in the form of abortion, we as Christ's ambassadors proclaim negative sanctions. That is: if the President continues to hold in disdain the Law-Word of God by ratifying evil and by such ratification holds our lives as citizens of the republic in bondage to the same idolatry, we as Christ's ambassadors do pray that Barack Obama would now repent and cease from his cruel persecution of innocent pre-born babies and his tyrannical oppression of God's people who would not be part of his pro-homosexual agenda. If the President ceases not from his malicious cruelty, we then earnestly pray that his days in office would be few and another man take his office, and that the name of Barack Obama would remain a reproach to all succeeding generations of Americans.

Jeff Ziegler is compiling three hundred signatures to sign this historical document. Once he has the necessary amount of respondents, this prophetic prayer proclamation will be crafted into a plaque. Sometime in early March this plaque, along with corresponding books and literature, will be presented to President Barack Obama.

My name is included and I have encouraged other men of God to sign as well. It appears the Lord has provided another "John Hancock" moment in our nation's history. Imagine my surprise, however, when Mr. Ziegler after receiving my signature invited me to be one of six men to present the plaque to President Obama in the White House.

In all my years of service and combined adventures in serving our blessed Lord, this has to be one of the most intense opportunities. We are going into the belly of the beast with a "Thus saith the Lord." Obviously, it will not be a message received anon with joy. Though serious in its implications, it is most certainly necessary to confront our new President with his wicked agenda that is leading this nation further astray.

The abortion industry and the homosexual agenda own his soul and by extension the power of the United States government. With the recent election, the enemies of the cross have for all intents and purposes captured the sword of civil government. They will wield both President and sword to implement their cursed vision upon our beleaguered land. This proclamation will put them on notice that the Church of the living God also wields authority. Men of God, according to the Scriptures and in history, have wielded the keys to the kingdom to bless, rebuke, or call upon God to remove His enemies as He sees fit.

In case some of you are skittish or think this is not a proper Christian response to tyranny, let me remind you that the first American Revolution was partially birthed in an imprecatory prayer. On September 7, 1774, John Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail, describing the effects of this prayer which opened the first session of the Continental Congress:

"When the Congress met, Mr. Cushing made a motion that it should be opened with Prayer. It was opposed by Mr. Jay of New York, and Mr. Rutledge of South Carolina because we were so divided in religious sentiments, some Episcopalians, some Quakers, some Anabaptists, some Presbyterians, and some Congregationalists, that we could not join in the same act of worship.

Mr. Samuel Adams arose and said that he was no bigot, and could hear a Prayer from any gentleman of Piety and virtue, who was at the same time a friend to his Country. He was a stranger in Philadelphia, but had heard that Mr. Duche' deserved that character and therefore he moved that Mr. Duche', an Episcopal clergyman might be desired to read Prayers to Congress tomorrow morning.

The motion was seconded, and passed in the affirmative. Mr. Randolph, our president, vailed on Mr. Duche', and received for answer, that if his health would permit, he certainly would.

Accordingly, next morning [Reverend Mr. Duche'] appeared with his clerk and in his pontificals, and read several prayers in the established form, and read the collect for the seventh day of September, which was the thirty-fifth Psalm.

You must remember, this was the next morning after we heard the horrible rumor of the cannonade of Boston.

I never saw a greater effect upon an audience. It seemed as if heaven had ordained that Psalm to be read on that morning. After this, Mr. Duche', unexpectedly to every body, struck out into an extemporary prayer, which filled the bosom of every man present. I must confess, I never heard a better prayer, or one so well pronounced.

Episcopalian as he is, Dr. Cooper himself [Adams' pastor] never prayed with such fervor, such ardor, such earnestness and pathos, and in language so elegant and sublime, for America, for the Congress, for the province of Massachusetts Bay, and especially the town of Boston. It has had an excellent effect upon everybody here. I must beg you to read that Psalm."

The following is just a sample of Psalm 35. "Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them...Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it. This thou hast seen, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me (Psalm 35:1-6; 19-22)."

I know in today's modern American Christianity, these prayers seem so contrary to our view of Christ. This proceeds from believing that the highest Christian virtue in America is being nice and polite as opposed to the world that is rude and crude. Though it may not suit our American Christian sensibilities, these prayers are most certainly a proper Biblical response to tyranny. These types of prayers have been uttered throughout Church history, when religious and civil systems sought to crush God's people under their oppressive boots. This is not personal vengeance based upon the whims of dissatisfied Christians, but a call for God to deal justly with His enemies and to deliver His people from evil. In both Testaments, God has manifested this redemptive reality and it is much needed today.

These are dangerous, trying times my friends. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord in spite of them! Our goal is similar to the saints of the Lord who in times past endured uncertainty and oppression, "Here is where we stand, we can do no less." Please cover our family and ministry in much prayer. We do not know the cost associated with this prophetic act. We only know that obedience is ours, the results belong to God.

IDAHO UPDATE REPORT

"And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:2, 3)."

Before sharing the Idaho report, as was way of reminder, I'd like to reacquaint you with Rachel's Park Memorial national vision:

At some point, America will have to come to grips with our complicity and complacency concerning the grave evil committed against our own defenseless children. Many will be reminded of abortion's horrendous sin against God and brutal crime against their own nameless sons and daughters. Thus this deep, festering wound that has polluted and defiled our beloved land must be adequately cared for. We must not find ourselves in a position that the prophet Jeremiah warned against, 'They have also healed the wound of my people slightly.' Rachel's Park Memorial is specifically designed to deal with the deadly wound abortion has afflicted against our children, the family, the Church, our government, and our culture.

Based upon this national vision, it is our goal to establish one park in every state of the union. So far, we have built one in Waco, TX, helped another in North Carolina and God be praised, we are currently serving to establish a third in Idaho. A precious couple by the name of Randy and Lynette Jackson invited me there to help birth their vision and mission of a Pro-life park similar to Rachel's Park Memorial.

They have established a board, their pastor and church fully support the work, and they are well connected in the greater pro-life community. Their vision, however, is not just limited to post abortive families, but will encompass miscarriage and parents who chose adoption for their children. In fact, it was the loss of their own son in miscarriage a few months ago that prompted them to step out in faith to see this dream become a reality for Idaho.

Upon arrival, our first scheduled event was a Roe vs. Wade Memorial Service. On January 22nd, in frigid temperatures, we gathered at a hospital in Boise. They house an abortionist, who seeks to have it both ways. He has a legitimate health care business and moonlights as an abortionist. I gave them some ideas on how to expose his duplicity and prayerfully encourage him to abandon his abortion practice and stick to legitimate medical practice.

We conducted a "Smash the Pot" Prophetic act at the door of the hospital based upon Jeremiah 19. The ceremony also included pastoral prayers, bag pipe players, post abortive testimony, and a call to both mercy and prophetic ministries to defeat the culture of death.

As we proceeded, a very confused and lost man came to investigate our public witness. He proudly announced that he was a pro-abort, homosexual man that demanded the right to adopt children. We patiently witnessed to him as he sought to disrupt our proceedings. He threatened to call his gang of sodomites and the press to harass and hinder our memorial to the fifty million children lost to Roe vs. Wade's tyrannical decree.

What the enemy meant for harm, however, God turned to the good. After we completed the ceremony, several of us men met with this man, Jarod, at his apartment. For two hours we challenged him with the claims of Christ and the truth of His word. At least twice the Holy Spirit manifested as truth was proclaimed. Please hold this man up in prayer. He is funny, personable, intelligent, perverse, lost and heading for hell, lest the Lord intervene and save his soul. The next day I preached at a pastor's luncheon and met with their board to hopefully impart good council and direction as they seek to build the park. Other witnessing opportunities presented themselves as well. All in all, it was a productive time serving God's purposes in Idaho. A special thanks goes to the Munds family for their hospitality.

ELIJAH MINISTRIES ITINERARY

February 4th-8th, I'll be traveling to New Orleans to be with Rev. Flip Benham and Operation Rescue/Operation Save America's leadership meeting. This year will be a little different. It will combine our annual leadership meeting with a regional event. A large church has invited us in that is interested in fighting the battle for America God's way. This is very rare indeed and we appreciate so much God opening this effectual door in His service.

February 9th-16th, I'll be traveling to Missouri to participate in several "Shake the Nation" conferences. Each day we will be in a different city in Missouri equipping God's people to become a church a time like this demands.

February 24th-March 1st, I'll be back in Missouri participating in another "Shake the Nation" conference.

March 3rd, might possibly be the date to be in Washington DC to present the prophectic prayer proclamation to President Obama.

March 5th-8th, I'll be ministering in Winchester, VA. The event is called "The Gathering."

March 19th-22nd, I'll travel to Fargo, North Dakota with Father Frank Pavone of Priest's for Life.

Thanks for all your love, prayers and financial support, without which none of this is possible.
