My life’s a storm,

A hollowing wind,

Whirling, raging,

Because of sin.

Like a creature,

In a cold, steel trap,

My voice, vice caught,

My breath, death cap,

My heart wrings out,

A desperate cry,

Like raindrops from,

A blackened sky.

You hear my sob,

While on the hill,

Your eyes lock mine,

And time stands still.

Frightening froth,

These choppy seas,

Yet, “Peace, be still,”

Your fragrant breeze.

You see my life,

You enter in,

You rescue me,

From all my sin.

You lift my head,

I close my eyes,

I hear your heart,

You know my sighs.

You kiss my soul,

You breathe on me,

Holy Spirit,

You’ve quickened me.

You’re beautiful,

My Majesty,

My God, My King,

You’ve set me free.
