Richard Bartholomew of Bartholomew's Notes on Religion had this to say [see link below] about OSA's proclamation of the Gospel of Christ at the "gates of hell" in our nation's capital.  There is a fine clip of Rusty "given 'em heaven" at the head of the noisy streets.  Curtis Fennison, our wonderful Shofar blower, had just been arrested at the other entrance and now the Captain of the Capitol Police was ready to silence us. 

 
Richard Bartholomew has the spiritual depth of a pie tin when it comes to understanding the Gospel battle we are involved in.  He has a tremendous amount of knowledge but little spiritual depth.  He is like a swamp - a mile wide but only an inch deep.  Unfortunately, concerning Islam, many of us find ourselves in the same sad state.
 
"...for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."  Isaiah 56:7.  This marvelous verse was quoted by Jesus in Matthew 21:13 and Mark 11:17. But Jesus, in both references, added this little caveat to it:  "...but you have made it (my house) a den of robbers."  Indeed, in the context of Isaiah 56, God's house will be a house of prayer for all nations, but it is very clear that it is HIS HOUSE.  All are invited, but no one dare enter unless rightly covenanted with Almighty God.  One could be a eunuch (not allowed to enter God's house) or a foreigner (not allowed to enter God's house) and, if repentant and rightly covenanted with God, entry into God's house is free and welcomed.  It was, and is, and forever will be, God's desire that all men from all nations be saved (2 Timothy 2:3-5).  But, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is only one Name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12.
 
The point is this.  God desires all nations to be in His house (properly related and covenanted with Him) and praying to Him.  But He has chosen His Son to be the only avenue into His house.  Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me."  John 14:6. 
 
What took place in Washington D.C., this past Friday, September 25, 2009, was no attempt at all for Muslims to approach Almighty God in prayer.  They can't reach God for there is no other Name by which men must approach God but the Name of Jesus.  It was a strategic attempt by the devil to dethrone the God of the Bible.  It was an attempt to replace or level the playing field between the living and true God of the Bible with the false god Allah.  It was an attempt to declare that God and Allah are one and the same - they are not!  Islam is a lie birthed in the deepest pits of hell.  It will not be tolerated by God and it certainly must not be tolerated by Christians.
 
Any attempt at dialogue or finding "common ground" with this enemy is a ruse by the devil himself.  Eve found that out when she went dialoguing with the devil and sin entered into the world.  When Jesus was tempted by the devil, He made no attempt at dialogue or finding "common ground."  He simply withdrew the Sword of the Spirit (Word of God) from it's sheathe and wielded it.  With one felt swoop Jesus took back the authority that Eve had given the devil and gave it back to us:  "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of this age."  Matthew 28:19-20.
 
When Muslims gathered on the lawn of our nation's Capital, they were declaring that "Allah is God and there is no other, and Mohammed is his prophet."  This is the first pillar of Islam.  It is a contradiction and violation of the first Commandment of Almighty God, "Thou shalt have no other God's before me."  We Christians have allowed God's House to become a den of robbers.  We refuse to wield the sharp double edged Sword of the Spirit and stand for God's Truth in the Name of Jesus.  Yes, we are ashamed of the Gospel of Christ and have allowed America to become a den of robbers.  We have somehow come to the conclusion that all gods are equal and therefore have allowed a lie to penetrate God's house.  We have robbed God of His truth that was once for all deposited in His Son - the Name that is above every name - Jesus!

Thousands of Muslim men and women gathered Friday outside the United States Capitol in a "day of Islamic unity" to hold a mass prayer and show their religion was peaceful as a group of Christian protestors gathered to object to the event.

Muslims from across America gathered to perform the weekly Friday prayer on lawns outside the building where President Barack Obama was inaugurated in January of this year.

The event, organized by the Dar-ul-Islam Elizabeth mosque in northeastern New Jersey, was aimed at showing the world "that not all Muslims hate America" and was inspired by Obama's attempt to reach out to Muslims.

"We should also extend our hand," Hassan Abdellah, president of the mosque, told the Los Angeles Times.

"The message was clear. I think the message basically was to let the American public know that all the stigmas that are attached to Muslims are not true," participant Lonnie Shabazz told the AFP news agency.

"We're not extremists and we do not subscribe to the trend of racism. I think that message was achieved today," Shabazz said.

But despite the general good spirit, a group of around 50 Christians gathered to protest against the event and waved banners reading "Trust Jesus" as they handed out flyers to Muslims around the prayer area.

"When Islam is weak, they will be the religion of peace," the paper quoted Rusty Thomas, a minister who traveled with Operation Save America to protest the event, as saying. "When they get the upper hand, out comes the sword."

Muslim leaders generally dismissed the protests but Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told the times: "What is noteworthy is that when Muslims seek to participate in society, they are going to face a small minority of bigots and racists."

Abdellah, however, sought to ease the protestors concerns and said "Muslims aren't here to take over the country. They're here to help make it better."
